Our Story Didn't Start With a Fishing Lodge
It started with a lake.
The Ottoson family's connection to Kishkutena Lake reaches back generations. Long before there was an Anglers Retreat, this was a place our family knew, worked on, explored and returned to year after year.
We fished here. We travelled these waters. We spent time around the cabins and shorelines, learned the lake and made memories here.
Somewhere along the way, Kishkutena stopped being simply a place we went.
It became part of who we are.
What Sets Us Apart?

Kishkutena is a fly-in destination surrounded by Northwestern Ontario wilderness. Getting here is part of the adventure.
Comfort Where It Matters
Hot and cold running water, an indoor shower and flushing toilet, solar power, Starlink and a comfortable cabin waiting at the end of the day.
Your Boat Is Included
Your stay includes a boat, 15 hp four-stroke motor and fuel. Two kayaks and a canoe with paddles are also available for guests.
A Place With a Story
Anglers Retreat wasn’t created around a marketing plan. It grew from generations of our family returning to Kishkutena and wanting to share some of what kept bringing us back.
